Chromium is the open source web browser project from which Google Chrome draws its source code.[1] The Google-authored portion of it is released under the BSD license,[2] with other parts being subject to a variety of different permissive open-source licenses, including the MIT License, the LGPL, the Ms-PL, and an MPL/GPL/LGPL tri-license.[3] It implements the same feature set as Google Chrome, but has a slightly different logo.[4] Versions of Mac and Linux Google Chrome based on Chromium were released to the development channel for Google Chrome on 4 June 2009.[5] According to the developer documentation, “‘Chromium’ is the name of the project, not the product, and should never appear in code in variable names, API names etc. Use ‘chrome’ instead.”[6]

it is. especially …
it is. especially when you use add-ons (you don’t have to, but they’re the main reason for using FF to start with). another thing is that FF uses SQLite databases for keeping history, bookmarks etc. and SQLite is slow as fuck. that’s why there’s all those “database vacuum cleaning” external apps & add-ons for it. try to drag&drop 100 bookmarks from one folder to another in its bookmark manager see how long it takes. it’s rewriting the whole datatable. in Opera, Chromium? it takes no time at all
firefox is slow? …
firefox is slow? dude…get real
@whereisraffi You …

@mpalen19
True. I …
@mpalen19
True. I think that’s everybody. I don’t hate them either, but I don’t like how things are tracked and sold off, etc.
All my e-mails are with gmail lol
@XMacWizardX; Well …
@XMacWizardX; Well its not like I hate Google or anything like that. In fact, I like certain Google services for some things.. But of course this comes with the knowledge that I know what I’m getting into.
What I don’t like is when they do things without my knowledge or contrary to what they are advertising.
They advertise private browsing on their browser… but is it truly private? Its like what ‘gotbletu’ said, “I want to have the option of disabling the data tracking…”
@mpalen19
Werd, …
@mpalen19
Werd, I’ve been trying to distance myself from Google myself =I
lol.
lol.
@vibovitold; Not …
@vibovitold; Not only is privacy a matter of principal but it has been used against us by the government.
Here in the states, the government has been known to subpoena Google for info on it’s citizens. After George W Bush Jr. signed into law that they could keep tabs on its citizens, pretty much everyone’s privacy rights have been compromised.
It’s not Google’s fault they HAVE to comply with the laws, but if this government wanted to they could abuse it which goes against the Constitution.
@vibovitold; I …
@vibovitold; I figured it was too good to be true. Oh well, maybe they will fix this eventually.
@librano; Rekonq, …

Does it work on Windows?
Firefox? slow? Life …
Firefox? slow? Life. You’re doin it wrong.
privacy is not just …
privacy is not just about “legal problems”. it’s like when you’re taking a shower – you probably wouldn’t want some old pervert peeking at you right. it doesn’t matter that it wouldn’t cost you anything and certainly wouldn’t give you any legal issues. privacy is privacy – it’s a matter of principle, first and foremost.
Chrome AND Chromium …
Chrome AND Chromium both send many data to Google
Everytime you type a letter into the adressbar it’s sent to Google for searching the web. That is how they collect Data.
But Google isn’t that bad they make over 90% of their money through advertizing!
The only Money google does make from your data is because this data helps them make better adverts for you, so you may click them more often.
by the way, Comodo …
by the way, Comodo has only just released another Chromium-based browser for the “tin-foiled hat crowd” – it’s called Dragon but to be honest, it’s far from impressive at first glance
