when i go on the internet (google my homepage) and try to download a toolbar it said insert storage in the saved destination what does that mean?
It means that you need to insert a USB drive in to your PS3 and then the installer for Google Toolbar will be saved on it.
You can then take the USB to your computer to install Google Toolbar there.
You can NOT install Google Toolbar on the PS3.
The PS3 has a web browser, but its not that much of a browser. Its not a computer where you can you install toolbars too!

since you were able to post this questio, I am assuming that you have a PC. You don’t wanna install any software on your PS3 because it’s too hard to navigate there. But sorry, you can’t.

No sorry, the PS3 internet, although fantastic, is not as powerful as IE Or Google Chrome.

It means that the toolbar is not an XMB-recognized file (music, photo or video) and so it won’t save it on the hard drive, and tells you to put it on an external hard drive instead.
If you download it, it still won’t work, because you can’t make custom configurations to the XMB. It is what it is and that’s that. If you want google toolbar on the XMB, ask sony to add it in a firmware update.
You could use the google toolbar under linux though. As long as it’s supported and doesn’t require hardware-accelerated graphics. There’s lots of useful things you can do with a ps3 under linux. I use ubuntu which you can get at http://www.psubuntu.com
one thing I can do is download and save any video from youtube. and answer questions here which you can’t do with the XMB web browser. I expect google toolbar would have a good chance of working too.
