I have windows XP up to date and IE 7.0 up to date. When downloading and installing Google toolbar there is an error at the end of the process that is not defined.
I don’t know for sure, but I have heard that the IE 7 is still with problems, you can download Mozilla FireFox for free and it never locks up like IE and it has safer features.

If you have a corrupted download already and you try redownload the file, you may not be overwriting the corrupted file. Try downloading the file to a different location before installing.

One possible cause that could prevent a successful download of Google toolbar is your settings which will not allow it. Go to Settings or Internet Options and modify it.
