How can i get rid of this stupid rx toolbar from my computer?

I installed kazaa and then uninstallled it because it was rubbish and made lots of strange things happen to my computer.I have just realised that the rx toolbar that comes bundled with kazaa is still installed and it is causing me problems.I have tryed to uninstall it using add/remove programs in the control panel and it wont do anything.Whatelse can i do to get rid of it that isnt too complicated?Thanks.

almost the same thing happened to me several years ago. as i see kazaa is still infected with bunch of nasty things. you need to run anti spyware to fix things. you can download antispyware at http://www.2-spyware.com/review-spy-sweeper.html

  2. After uninstalling Kazaa there are still some files that need to be removed. If you run HijackThis, you’ll find the following lines still remaining.

    O2 – BHO: RXResultTracker Class – {59879FA4-4790-461c-A1CC-4EC4DE4CA483} – C:\Program Files\RXToolBar\sfcont.dll (file missing)

    O18 – Filter: text/html – {2AB289AE-4B90-4281-B2AE-1F4BB034B647} – C:\Program Files\RXToolBar\sfcont.dll

    Check these files and remove them with Hijackthis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php).

    Next, Remove the following folders from the hard drive.

    1) Open My Computer, Drive C

    2) Double-click on Program Files folder

    3) Right-click and Delete the following folders

    * ALTNET
    * INSTALFNK
    * KAZAA
    * NEED2FIND
    * RXTOOLBAR

    Also delete the file UNINSTALLNEED2FIND.DLL file in the Program Files folder

    4) For Advanced Users – Remove the following folders in the Registry

    A. Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and click Ok
    B. Click on the pluses (+) next to the following folders

    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    * SOFTWARE

    C. Right-click and Delete the following folders if they exist

    * INSTAFNK
    * KAZAA
    * NEED2FIND
    * P2P NETWORKING
    * RX TOOLBAR
    * SKYPE

    D. Click on the pluses(+) next to the following folders (starting from the top again)

    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    * SOFTWARE

    E. Right-click and Delete the following folders if they exist

    * ALTNET
    * KAZAA
    * MAGNET
    * NEED2FIND
    * P2P NETWORKING
    * RX RESULTS
    * SHARMAN NETWORKS LTD

    F. Close the Registry Editor and Restart the Computer

  3. Go to start – run – type msconfig – go to startup – untick the box that refers to the toolbar (might be kazaa or rx) to stop it loading at startup.
    Then you should be able to remove it using add/remove programs.
    Once you have done this download and use Ccleaner and use analyse and issues to remove traces of any files that are left.

    kazaa is full of viruses and spyware straight after the install, and yet you havent downloaded anything

    Use spybot search and destroy to get rid of it

    also try hijack this to get the registry files out

    Thanks
