how to keep the start toolbar on during the Sims 2?

i want to talk to my friends but i also want to play the sims too and when i play the sims, the sims page go’s over the start toolbar. how do i keep the start toolbar on during the Sims 2?

You could play in windowed mode, this is easy. Just exit out of the game completely. Then right click the shortcut(usually on your desktop) and look for where it says "Target:" and then it has a text box with the location of the Sims 2 on your computer. Where it says:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSBin\Sims2.exe" add a space then "-w" after it. No quotations.
